Nadia Elena Comaneci
She grabbed international recognition and affection when she gave the world one of the most memorable moments in sports history - scoring the first-ever perfect 10 on bars that were symmetrical during the Montreal Olympic Games in 1976. To add to that she scored six more perfect tens, thereby becoming the youngest all-around Olympic gold medalist, only 14 years old age. The dazzling Nadia Comaneci did more than draw attention, she helped Romania gain a global presence. In achieving an unachievable result, the sporting icon created a legendary figure and promoted gymnastics across the globe. Public opinion about female sportspeople was changed by this feat. It was because of her impact in the Olympics and the release move that both move toe-on (toes on) as well as the release movement were named in her honor. They have remained, till today, as tough. Apart from the Olympics, her performance was exceptional in the both World Championships (World Championships) and European Championships. Thus, she became one of the most popular and well-known gymnasts. The "Queen" of the Olympics, after she defected to America, tried out modeling and marketing sports equipment.
